Privacy Policy

MeloFace ("we") understands how important the photos and voice you upload are to you. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the MeloFace mobile app and website, how we use it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

• Photos you upload: pet photos, your selfies, and photos of two or more people. We need to detect human/animal faces and mouth positions inside them in order to generate lip-sync video.
• Audio you record or choose: a line you record, a song clip, or a built-in music track inside the app. We use it to drive the mouth movement.
• Account and purchase data: if you sign in or subscribe, we store your email (or Apple/Google sign-in identifier), subscription status, and order number.
• Device and usage data: device model, OS version, crash logs, feature usage counts, and generation-failure error codes — used for debugging and product improvement.
• What we do NOT collect: we do not read your contacts, your full photo library, your precise location, or your microphone in the background.

2. How we use this information

• Generate the lip-sync video on your device or on our servers;
• Save the resulting video to your account so you can view, download, and share it;
• Process subscriptions, unlock paid features, and resolve billing issues;
• Improve model quality — only when you explicitly opt in via Settings.

3. How faces and voice are processed (important)

Generating a lip-sync video requires sending your photo and audio to an AI model provider. We will:

• Use your photo and audio only for the time needed to generate this specific video;
• Not use your photos and voice to train AI models by default — anonymous samples are only used if you opt in to "Help improve the model" in Settings;
• Encrypt all traffic in transit (HTTPS / TLS);
• Let you delete any single result, or wipe all original photos and audio from our servers with one tap in Settings.

4. Data retention

• Original photos and audio: kept until you delete them; unused uploads are automatically purged after 90 days;
• Generated videos: kept until you delete your account;
• Account and subscription records: retained for 3–7 years as required by tax and store-settlement rules;
• Crash logs: kept for at most 90 days.

5. Who we share data with

• AI model providers (cloud vendors and lip-sync model APIs) — only within the scope needed to complete this specific generation;
• Payment channels (Apple App Store, Google Play, Whop, or similar) — order and subscription information handled per store requirements;
• Cloud infrastructure (database, object storage, CDN) — used to host and distribute the product;
• We do not sell your photos, voice, or videos to advertisers, and we do not use them for cross-app ad tracking.

6. Your rights

• Access and export all data you have uploaded;
• Delete individual items or your entire account;
• Withdraw the "Help improve the model" opt-in at any time;
• File a complaint about how we process your data.
• To exercise these rights, use Settings → Privacy in the app, or email privacy@meloface.com. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Children

MeloFace is not intended for children under 13 (COPPA) / 16 (GDPR). We do not knowingly collect face or voice data from children. If you are a parent and believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please email us to request deletion.

8. Changes to this policy

When we make material changes, we will notify you via an in-app banner or by email. Continued use of MeloFace after the update means you accept the revised policy.
